Expensive life

There is a huge percentage of Americans who believe that our healthcare system is majorly flawed, but what makes them think that?

The cost and accessibility of healthcare is seen as one of the most urgent problems in the United States according to its citizens. This is why they think it’s one of the worst things in our country.

Since 1991, Americans believe that the most important concern in the country is the cost, its ranked near the top of the list. The ages of people range from 18 to 65+, agreeing to the fact that our healthcare indeed is awful (taken from this source). The United States spends more money per person for healthcare than any other nation, but they not all receive the proper care they deserve (from this source). How does that make sense?

Having these benefits makes a huge difference in a citizen’s life. For an example, a trip to the hospital and the cost of the treatment. Covered by healthcare, it can range from $50 to $150 which is heaven for Americans. But unfortunately without it, the cost of it can go up to $3000 or more (taken from this source) It got me thinking about something else, “What about the poor?” Do they have to try their best to steer away from any possible accident or sickness to avoid that amount of money?

What are the ways that Americans want to improve our healthcare system? Here are a few examples!
  • Thoughtfully constructed reforms that improve health and slow cost growths
  • Interventions that are targeted to specific patient populations and clinics which leads to a greater impact on cost containment

  1. It's very interesting that the U.S. spends more money per person for healthcare than any other nation, yet people still aren't getting proper care. I am curious what other countries who have better healthcare are doing. We might be able to get some good ideas from them that will help us reform our healthcare.

  2. Something that stood out to me was that we spend more money on each person in the United States for health care than any other country, yet we cant provide the proper health care and treatment for them. This so called healthcare system seems like a money making scam

  3. I STRONGLY agree with the fact that older people don't get the attention they need. They go to the hospital for some pain they have and they have them they for hours and come out just ton stay, they'll be fine. Like what kind of doctor is that. It seems that they were taught not only to be Doctors but to also help they health companies lie to the their patients so they can come back in a month with the same thing or something worse. The Health care system is a Fraud!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Noice. What a great way to sum up this situation, I too feel that the U.S has a huge flaw in its healthcare system. Based on facts used in this post and from linked sources I believe that the system is based on greed because once everything is all put together it all revolves around money. I am one to say that greed makes the world go round and if nothing is done the whole situation will spiral out of control.

  5. It’s sad that a lot of people here have health care but don’t even get the proper care they need. It’s also outrageous how much money people have to pay in order just to just make sure they are alive. I think healthcare should be a necessity for everyone no matter if you're rich or poor.

  6. I love the fact that they offer ways to actually change the problems they have with health care. It is extremely expensive for the government. If we have things like donation healthcare like a sort charity i'm sure more people could get the help they need.

  7. I believe you should work for health care I don't think it should be just given to you for doing noting. Ruth did bring up a great point alot of people here have healthcare but when they go to the hospital they dont get the care that they need.
